Admissions Overview
Pharm.D. Admission Decisions
Each year 91ÁÔÆæ admits a limited number of students to the Doctor of Pharmacy program. The admissions process is competitive and seeks out students with demonstrated academic ability in the pre-pharmacy curriculum, good moral character, critical thinking skills, professional demeanor, developed leadership skills, and the aptitude to perform all tasks regularly expected of a registered pharmacist.
91ÁÔÆæ admits students without regard to their sex, disability, race, color, creed, or national origin and entitles them to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded to its students. 91ÁÔÆæ does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, academic and other standards, or other standards.
Decision Criteria
- Pre-Pharmacy Curriculum GPA: We calculate two GPAs for admission consideration: an Overall Prerequisite GPA and
a Math and Science GPA. All attempts of prerequisite coursework are included in both
GPA calculations, and applicants must earn a minimum 2.50 GPA in each category.
Grades of D- through C- are accepted for prerequisite coursework; however, because admission to the PharmD program is competitive, applicants with multiple grades below a C may be subject to additional review by the Admissions Committee. Meeting the minimum GPA requirements does not guarantee an interview or admission to the program. - Pre-Pharmacy Prerequisite Completion: Applicants should have all prerequisites completed by the end of the Spring semester preceding the Fall semester they are applying for to be eligible for consideration. All math and science coursework must by completed by the Spring and no more than 6 hours in pre pharmacy courseworks are accepted in Summer I. No coursework will be allowed for Summer II due to Summer Academy. Students must submit updated transcripts after course completion. Detailed information is below in What to Expect Once Admitted.
- Interviews: Applicants selected for an interview participate in a holistic admissions process designed to assess academic readiness, communication skills, professionalism, ethical reasoning, motivation for pursuing pharmacy school, and alignment with the College's mission. Interviews are conducted virtually through Kira Talent and include a live panel interview with faculty. staff, alumni and/or pharmacy practitioners. Interview evaluations are completed using a standardized rubric to ensure consistency and fairness in the admissions process. The Admissions Committee considers interview performance alongside academic achievement, leadership, service, healthcare exposure, and other experiences when making admissions decisions.
